Description “Lamb” is the first feature film by Ethiopian filmmaker Yared Zakele. The movie retraces the story of a young boy who becomes emotionally attached to a ewe after the death of his mother. The action aimed to strengthen the cinema industry and the skills of professionals working in this sector in Ethiopia.
Results - Production of a feature film in Ethiopia that spurred production growth and local government attention to support the Ethiopian film industry; - The film led to wide international recognition (the first Ethiopian film to be selected in Cannes, more than a hundred selections and many awards); - The capacities of Ethiopian partners and local professionals have been greatly improved.
